It is also compatible with Darcs, Perforce, SVK, and Subversion and allows users to customize the font, spacing, and theme to suit their taste. Until 2016, BBEdit always looked a bit scrappy on OS X, more like a classic Mac OS application. It offers full support for OS X-based Mac PCs and it is also available in more than fifty languages. TextMate allows users to easily navigate between files while working on a project and also allows them to input shell commands from within a document. Installation is simple and straightforward. TextMate puts you in control, reduces the mental overhead, and turns manual work into something the computer does. TextMate for Mac helps to avoid repetitive tasks and also makes your project simple and less cumbersome. A dedicated and feature-packed editor that is dedicated to the task at hand is needed by most programmers and designers to get their projects done effectively especially when you are dealing with a lot of files at once. Whether you are a programmer or a designer, the production of code and markup is hard work. It has a clean and minimalistic GUI and a streamlined UI which makes TextMate for a beautifully simple product. It comes with more than enough project management features to keep most users happy. Although it is not an IDE by default, TextMate for Mac uses its unique scoping system, great snippets, and macros to provide features that even a language specific IDE does not offer. This has resulted in innumerable requests for both a Windows and Linux version, but TextMate remains exclusive for the Mac, at least for now. Developed by a UNIX geek who was lured to Macromates platform because of the latter’s ease of use and elegance. It requires macOS 10.9 or higher, but has search and replace, auto indent, auto pairing, a clipboard with history, column tools, multi-language support, CSS and HTML tools, foldable code blocks and a raft of other goodies. TextMate for Mac is the pinnacle of Emacs and OS X. TextMate is a heavy hitter in terms of features. Features like Plain text, regex search, and replace are only a keystroke away and very quick. TextMate for Mac is very fast to load and use compared to any IDE available. One of the best features of this program is the inclusion of an extensive library of bundles on the internet to extend its feature set to do anything imaginable. It selectively chooses the best of both worlds to the benefit of expert scripters and novice users alike by bridging UNIX underpinnings and GUI. It brings Apple’s approach to operating systems into the world of text editors. You can save and use your own code snippets within the app, and you can as well create and run your own macros in TextMate for Mac to increase the efficiency of your work. It also supports multiple file encodings, different line ending conventions and, of course, has multi-level undo. These features include case folding, brace matching, syntax highlighting, block selection, and support for almost every programming language out there. TextMate for Mac houses all the basic features you would expect from a good programmer’s editor.
